Members who use a screen reader, a keyboard, a magnifier, or only a phone get the same site, join form, event registration, and member hub as everyone else. OrgHQ doesn’t promise that once a year; it checks it automatically before every release.
Checked Before Every Release
Every change to OrgHQ is tested before it ships: about 90 real pages — the public site, the member hub, and the admin — opened in a real browser and checked against WCAG 2.1 AA, at phone width, and with enlarged text spacing. A change that fails doesn’t go out.
Your Brand Color Can’t Break It
Pick any color for your brand, even pale yellow. OrgHQ darkens it just enough, wherever it is used as text or behind white text, that it always meets the contrast minimum — on white, on the grey page, and on its own tints.
Screen Readers and Keyboards
Every page is built from standard links, buttons, and form fields — no custom widgets — with a skip link, labeled fields, a heading outline that never skips a level, and form errors tied to the field they are about. Messages that appear without a page change, like “Copied” or “Image added,” are spoken aloud.
Phones and Zoom
Pages reflow to a 320-pixel-wide screen — the same as 400% zoom on a laptop — without sideways scrolling, and pinch-zoom is never switched off.
Sign-In Without Passwords
Members sign in with a six-digit code sent by email — nothing to remember, nothing to type twice — and a likely typo in the address (gmial.com) is pointed out before the code goes to the wrong place.
Help Writing Accessible Content
The editor asks for a description of every image you add, and fixes heading levels for screen readers automatically — so what your board writes stays accessible without anyone learning the rules.
An Honest Answer for Your Questionnaire
Funders, universities, and hospital partners ask about accessibility. Our public statement says exactly what is tested and what isn’t yet, and we will answer your questionnaire criterion by criterion — including where the true answer is “partially.”
