An account counts from its “as of” day, and renaming an account no longer reopens a closed month
An account’s opening balance used to count in every month before its “as of” day: a CD added on October 8 “as of” October 5 showed on September’s report and in the year statement’s balances for the year before, and a closed September read “Changed since closed”. Now an account is in no month before its “as of” day, and the month it starts in lists it from its opening balance. Transactions filtered to that account shows $0.00 for a month before it, and Accounts shows its balance today as $0.00 until its “as of” day. Renaming an account, or changing its last four digits, no longer makes a closed month read “Changed since closed”: only money that moved does. The report for the month under way now gives each account’s balance today, as the Overview does, so a bill entered early for later in the month isn’t in it yet. The board report’s month-by-month table starts in the month your books start, instead of listing earlier months at $0.00. And when a bank file ticks off a Stripe payout, its date no longer moves into or out of a closed month.
