A payment made on your website counts in the month Stripe charged it, and a refund in the month you made it

Money dated a payment made on your website by when its checkout opened, so a member who opened checkout at 11:50 PM on August 31 and paid after midnight was August’s in your books and September’s in Stripe — and Reconcile Stripe showed the two months $50.00 apart. A registration refunded in Sign-Ups dropped out of the month it was paid, though Stripe takes the refund out of the month it was made. Now each payment counts in the month Stripe charged it — a renewal Stripe charged on September 15 is September’s even when the website records it later — and a registration you refund in Sign-Ups stays a payment in its own month and comes out as “Refunds of website payments — online” in the month you refunded it: on the statement, the treasurer’s report, Transactions and Reconcile Stripe. The board’s copy of a month you have already closed keeps the figures it was closed on. A refund you made in Stripe first and then mark in Sign-Ups is dated the day Stripe made it, and Sign-Ups tells you to bring that month in from Stripe again so it counts once. Someone whose registration you refunded can’t sign up for that event again online — they’re asked to contact you — so the payment and its refund stay in your books. The export’s registrations and dues files say the day Money counts each payment and refund, and every day in them is your time zone’s. Payments and refunds recorded before this change keep the dates they had.
