Money opens on the month that needs you

Money used to open on a whole year, with every entry of it above the month’s close. Now it opens on one month — last month while its books still need closing, this month otherwise — and says in a sentence where that month stands. Close September 2026 comes first: any possible duplicates, then each account in the month, Stripe included, each with its own status and a button for the ones still to reconcile, then the close itself and the send to the board. A close that can’t go through comes back with your note and reasons as you typed them. September at a glance shows money in, money out and what was left over — the treasurer’s report’s own figures — each a link to the entries that add up to it. Accounts in September gives each account’s balance at the start and the end of the month, and says what keeps the change in your accounts apart from what was left over, such as a CE event pass paid to OrgHQ that isn’t taken from any account. Recent months shows where each month’s books stand. Money’s tabs — Overview, Transactions, Reconcile, Reports and Accounts — keep the month you are on as you move between them. Bookkeeping Settings is now called Accounts, and each balance on it says it runs through today, so a bill dated next week no longer changes it. Links to the old Money page still work: a year opens that year’s statement, an account its transactions.
