orghq.org remembers which campaign link first brought a visitor, and says so in its privacy policy

When a link to orghq.org or the demo carries a campaign tag — a ref or utm_ part of the address, such as ?ref=newsletter — a second first-party cookie, oh_ref, now keeps that tag, the first one only. It is cleaned to lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, at most 40 characters, and dropped whole when it looks like an email address or a phone number. It is stored with the same anonymous id as the rest of OrgHQ’s own measurement on orghq.org and the demo, with the demo lead when you leave your email address at the demo, and, when you sign up, with your workspace, so OrgHQ can tell which of its emails and posts bring associations in. There is still no advertising tracking, no third-party script and nothing on your own site’s visitors; the privacy policy describes the new cookie and its effective date is now 20 October 2026. The “How did you hear about OrgHQ?” question after signup also has a new answer, “An email from OrgHQ”.
